Finally, a most welcome return to form for Rob Keogh, a crucial contribution in holding together an innings of the familiar succession of starts, but little real substance otherwise. it will require a convincing bowling performance (step up, please, Doug Bracewell, in particular) if we are to force the win essential to maintain our challenge for promotion.
Well played team, a good win efficiently executed and sets us up nicely for the final two rounds.
I was hoping that Curran, in particular, could bat through to really make his mark, but congratulations to Ben Sanderson on another 50 wickets at 20.98... a model of consistency and dedication.
Looking at the table it seems to be down to 4 teams for the final 2 promotion spots. Win v Durham and draw v Gloucs will be enough. Even just a win v Durham should be enough unless other results all go against us. Lose or draw v Durham and it will be an exciting final match.
Congratulations to the team on another solid performance. It seems we now have enough players coming to the fore in each game to capitalise with the ball and especially now with the bat. Congratulations to Sanderson on another 50 wicket season (where would we be without him?) and to Rob Keogh in particular on his welcome return to form in recent weeks. Adam Rossington must also be doing something right, as our CC form since he took over as captain has been a revelation and he's also managed to maintain decent form with the bat.
We really are in a strong position now. A win against Durham should come close to sealing promotion and even two draws may be anough as both our last matches are against promotion rivals. Come on Northants!
