Just signed for 8 weeks of 4 day games. Great signing in my opinion. Averages nearly 34 in Test cricket.

Yes. Especially when you consider must decent players will be involved in the ICC World Cup.

Does this mean Bavuma won't be available for a lot of this 8 week period?

He hasn't played an ODI for RSA in 2018, so presumably he might not be in their current thoughts for the final ICC squad. But nothing like being on the spot, if they have to draft someone in to cover injuries.

Now that Bavuma has lost his Test place, will he be tempted to join the exodus of South Africans signing Kolpak terms... maybe with us?

I hope so. We certainly need a batsman of his calibre for CC Division 1.

Of course, now having been recalled, he could yet make his mark in SA's attempt to draw the series!
