An excellent century from Temba Bavuma, underpinning an innings including generally useful contributions down the order. Unfortunately, now that he's finally found some telling form, he's on his way, but at least this match is nicely set up.

Another brilliant performance from the bowlers with Derbyshire 146 all out. Follow on not enforced.

Our hero, Mr Sanderson, in particular, continues his great work... what a signing he has been for us!

If you don't enforce the follow-on, make sure you avoid making a complete mess of the second innings!

What is going on? 19 wickets in two sessions... a bowlers paradise or rank bad batting. More pressure now on the attack than perhaps there should have been. Derbys have seven sessions in which to score 313!

A strange match, they are going at a good old rate, but 3 wickets down. Maybe they are attacking to put our bowlers off their line and length?

A good performance in the main so far this match, after two successive good results against Sussex and Lancashire. Hopefully the 2nd innings collapse yesterday was just a blip as overall momentum seems to be building. I think today could be a make or break day for us in the CC this season. Win and we're genuinely in the hunt for a promotion place (who'd have thought a few weeks ago). Lose and we're virtually out of it as Durham, Middlesex and Derbyshire will all put a points gap btween them and us.

I don't blame Derbyshire for playing aggressively as it seems the best chance of getting a score on this wicket. Having said that, it's clear that it comes with risk. With 5 wickets to take we should be favouriates to win today, but ......... COME ON NORTHANTS!

Comfortable victory and into third place!

It can only be put down to the change of captaincy. Wakely admitted he wasn't enjoying it and that couldn't have done much for the team. Now it's a question of can we keep it going for the last 4 matches?

Well played team, in particular to Luke Proctor with those key wickets last night, which proved the turning point for us. Clearly, the pitch was far from straightforward, possibly a reflection of preparation difficulties prior to the game?

Good win and well done team for not giving Derby a real sniff today. A few weeks ago they might well have lost that match. There's no doubt they've been better since Wakely gave up the captaincy. I don't think that's a coincidence but whatever the case long may it continue. Our main problem now is to try to replace Bavuma who was just starting to show his class. Someone will have to step up to get those hundreds.

Very nice to go into the T20s sitting pretty though. :)
