Interesting to see that on a pitch which is supposed to be one for spinners, Glamorgan have bowled 53 overs of seam out of 97 overs (55%) while Surrey bowled 59 out of 177 (33%). Our lack of a red ball spinner is clear and why could we not have tried one of the youngsters who have played for the 2s?

It seems more apparent that the pitch has been prepared for batsmen, with bowlers not really
being considered. Terrible cricket pitch. Any fines for preparing such a pointless strip ?

From a distance it looks the same as any other. Cricket is not an easy game to understand. :)

Try not to castigate fielders for dropping catches as no one means to do it. For wicket keeprs it is a different matter as it's their main job. However I think we have now put down 5 catches and Cooke missed a stumping. Not great!

Tomorrow : see if Amla and Pope get their centuries, then let Rikki Clarke have a bat. Declare and let him bowl a few overs and all go home.

Sounds like a plan.

Hope the groundsperson gets a hefty bonus for producing a pitch of such high quality

Given how badly Byrom has bowled it is dispiritng that he is the only one to take a wicket. Poor fielding and poor selection. This may be a good batting wicket but should have done better.

Surrey should get the Chelmsford people over there ASAP! ;)

When is the skipper going to bowl?

Glamorgan score 672.
Surrey retaliate with 722.
Proving that their 'dick ' is bigger than ours.

What a travesty of a game.

I'm afraid our poor catching was a contributor to that 700+ score.

Think Glamman must have gone out looking for petrol.

We’re all eagerly awaiting his end of season report and his proposals to overhaul the county. Hopefully he will have noticed Sussex’s calamitous season as a result of playing their kids !
