As you say, looks a bit batting heavy. Don't see why Carey could not have played instead of Taylor or Douthwaite with Neser coming in at 9 in this side. Fortunate to have won the toss and clearly going into this game with the aim of drawing as do not see this side taking 20 wickets in quick time,

Yes - professional production.

Afraid Cooke beaten for pace. Given the way Glamorgan are set up for this game, I would have thought Selman's belligerence would have been an asset.

Once again, delighted with the live streams allowing we retired cricket enthusiasts to enjoy matches. Looking at the Glamorgan team, we seem much improved on previous years with real competition for places especially with our second X1 doing well and those who perform like Cook given their chance. Difficult decision were made to release players to form a smaller squad but many chances were given last year to cement a place with those not performing released. Some credit to management methinks and, hopefully, onwards and upwards, if slowly!

Lloyd should soon start attracting interest from the England set up. They are crying out for a stroke playing opener.

A good start against a strong bowling attack.

It seems probable that a couple of days might be lost to the weather and, with us very unlikely to set a target, hopefully we ought to be able to avoid defeat.

I suspect the selector's would have to be drowning in their tears before selecting Glamorgan's Lloyd. Unless, of course, they see him as the proverbial straw.
He's made a fine start to the season, let's hope he continues to impress.

So far this season he has scored 344 Championship runs (including today) at an average of 49. Plus some wickets. Has scored those runs in a way that puts pressure on the bowlers. Must raise some interest if he continues. Ideally can reach 3 figures at some point.
