He has performed an important role in many of the white ball wins over recent years. Wish him well for the future. At 28 he potentially had a lot more cricket ahead of him.

We now need Smith to stay fit alongside Douthwaite. It will be interesting to see how Joe Cooke fits in as he may have a similar role. I am not quite sure whether it is batting or bowling that is his strength.
