They had some (a huge amount) of luck at times, but that should bode well for our bowlers.
Need some luck to stay in when the conditions were pretty bowler friendly

Slightly unrealistic to expect us to score another 100 in 20 overs. A good effort so far and a score of 400+ should set us up against a side who didn’t look very interested yesterday.

That was when we were still one down. Although, frankly, if we want to go up, from 300-4, every point counts so what's the point in not trying. We should be winning the game from a 330+ score anyway so there is no harm in it.

Sorry - didn't see the time. It was a tricky day batting so I think they have done well. Good balance of dogged 4 day batting from Selman and Brathwaite allowing Patel and Lloyd to score more freely later. Hard ball this morning with hopefully some sun should allow some easier scoring but I do not think conditions will be so helpful to our bowlers later. Hopefully we can set it up for Patel and Salter to spin us to a win on Thursday.

Nothing wrong with the way were were batting. Just feel like we may need that bonus point. Started well this morning (although Root now gone).

They've done really well today.

Odds-on on us going into the final game 16 points behind Gloucestershire. So probable scenario for us to get promoted next week is:

1) we will need to beat Durham
and
2) Glocs lose to Northants whilst picking up less bonus points than us
and, possibly
3) Sussex not to win (if they beat Derbyshire this week)

A high-scoring draw between Glocs and Northants will probably see both promoted, so expecting the most batsman-friendly pitch possible (in September) in Bristol next week!

Lots of permutations but if we win our current match after two good days’ play we could still be in the mix for promotion going into the last match. Who would have thought that at the end of last season? Patel has been an unexpected but very shrewd signing doing well with bat and ball and Brathwaite has contributed too. If we end up 4th/5th it will still be a real improvement. Well done to the current team and management giving us hope!

An unlikely Durham chase or Worcestershire win would be huge for us. (As long as we complete our job)

The complaints about Cooke coming straight back from his injury were always a nonsense and just reflected some people's rather odd understanding of the professional game.

Having glanced at your own musings over a period of time, I struggle to see how your posts reveal any knowledge of the professional game, in fact, the complete opposite is very much to the fore.
Perhaps you’d care to enlighten us with regard to your experience of the professional game ?
