If Cardiff is as hot as London today then perhaps Sussex broke into a minor sweat.

I think De Lange`s contract is up at the end of the season , figures today pretty grim, his last over on Saturday was pretty impressive and there have been other occasions when he has been good at the death bowling full and fast. What`s he being told to bowl I wonder ? He does provide a cutting edge in a blunt attack.

Well done again Salter who seems to have underused this season.

I have joined in the applause for MM this season. We enjoyed being 2nd and the 3 wins and an improvement in the 50 over Cup. However the T20 has been a disaster matched only once in the history of the competition, ( I believe Somerset didn`t do too well in T20 when MM went there) I believe his position is initially for this season. He needs a strong end to the season.

I thought our batting was an improvement today
Ingram decided to have a knock and Marsh had a few runs
The score looked par and I thought just maybe a first win despite the bowling attack not looking very strong
Well how wrong can you be as Sussex did not break sweat getting those runs
Our T20 form has been nothing short of shocking this season
To play 13 games without a win and also including a record low score in t20 proves that despite some hope of better results this season we are now worse than ever before
Maynard has never had success in T20 including when he was with Somerset
All this new organisation at the start of the season has resulted I worse results
I’ve put our success on the county championship down to Marnus and his mountain of runs he scored and the fact he papered over the cracks
It will be interesting what the club say about our season and what excuses they come up with

I think we were already scuppered when we lost both of our overseas players and Ingram returned out of form. As the rest of our squad is very average, we needed those players to shine.

I still think it has generally been a big improvement this year on last season though. Yes, we won a few games in the T20 last year, but we were also utterly humiliated in the Championship on numerous occasions. We failed to pass 200 more than 50% of the time and Khawaja was the only batsman who averaged over 30.

We have generally been much more competitive this year.

Like most contributors to this website, I genuinely want to be positive.
However, I have to ask what happened to the much-heralded arrival of James Foster as specialist t20 coach/consultant?
I assume he was not involved on a voluntary basis; if that is so, what sort of return have we had from this investment?

Like NickGlam and probably other ‘oldies’ I tend to judge progress by our County Championship results which, after so many hugely humiliating defeats last year, have been so much better, even if we win no more. OK T20 has been very disappointing but who would have thought that Ingram and Marsh would have been so poor, also Cooke has not had a good season and our new signings Root and Hemphrey seem to be more 4 day players. Fakhar had to be signed at the last minute when there probably wasn’t much choice or money, was late coming and didn’t make an impact. Labuschagne was an ‘inspired’ signing and Patel so I feel much happier than a year ago. As for Foster, I’d forgotten about him but when he was reported as being involved with T20 we applauded having an input from an outsider - say no more!!! Lastly: David Lloyd has had a great season - Player of the Year for me!

Be positive, things might have been worse without James's expert input. He may well have been the mastermind behind those 4 no results, and if he faffed about as much as when he captained Essex in the T20 the other matches were probably over before the team talk had finished/started.

Don`t expect James Foster to feature Glamorgan 2019 too prominently on his CV. He would have been well known to MM you would have thought.

Echo and agree the thoughts listed above but with some riders to the `improved` Championship form.

Yes the 3 wins were very welcome and hard earned by the players. However current form, the last two games v Middx and Lancs we have been hammered, reminiscent of previous seasons.

The points from the drawn games have also been welcome but in most of these Glammy were heavily outscored on 1st innings. There has been some commendable application shown in the 2nd innings but rain saved us away to Sussex and Middx and arguably home to Derbys.

Like all on here, I would love to see Glammy get promoted, I don`t think it will happen now. Much as I would rejoice in any success for the Daffodil part of me thinks it might be better to stay where we are.
