As aren't likely to have any England internationals representing us in the near future, sometimes you take anything you can get. :lol
I don't have a problem not having any England Internationals in the Glam team. If they are playing for England, then they aren't actually playing for Glam.

Surely you don't include the great Roland Lefebvre in the " take anything you can get " camp ? I would take players like him any time.

No, not at all. Which is why I said, "Especially with Roland Lefebvre..." it was worth mentioning.

I am also aware though that being pleased that one of our players had a few decent games against UAE and Singapore is "taking anything you can get".

Find it strange that some have not heard of Banton. He looked class playing against Glam last year.

Anyway, any idea how much tickets are going to be? I do wonder since theres some big salaries to pay here.

Can't seem to find shirts on sale anywhere either. Surely with xmas coming up this should be a done deal. Do I want a shirt with a hula hoop on though?

Just watched Ingram use up 8 balls to score one run in today's T10 game. Another very poor tournament for him. I have no idea why the Cardiff-based franchise have recruited him.

Hundred competition to attract families and children? Not with starting times of 7 pm on a night before school they wont! They missed the opportunity to attract families to the T20 in exactly the same way.

There is one more pick following the Blast competition and I would be willing to put a fair bit of money on the Fire and Glamorgan being desperate to recruit a Welsh player to give some credence to the notion of the franchise being "Welsh". Players who might be in the running with a good performance in the Blast must include Lloyd, Salter, Smith and maybe Douthwaite.

Lloyd and Salter were two shining lights in a pretty dim campaign. Lloyd on last summer`s form might be a better (and much cheaper) option than Ingram. The batting however looks strong with Banton impressive in BBL and Bairstow, Smith etc.

Watching BBL this morning Mitch Marsh might be a good pick and might have helped our T20 season. Shaun Marsh has great BBL stats, top Perth batsman and has been highly talked up by the commentators, let`s see how he goes. Didn`t do much wearing a daffodil.

Gleeson must have a good agent to get him these gigs.

Anyone else get the impression this is badly organised?

So far I've had loads of emails about tickets but I can't sign up because I haven't got a referral code? Whats that?

And merchandise. I can't see anyone selling jerseys etc? Not sure if I want a Hula Hoop on the front mind.

What a crap way to get sponsorship - crisps!!!!

Yes you can register now. Its worrying that no-one even noticed that you can't even register.

Does not bode well - I worry its going to be a disaster to be honest.....

Still no jerseys or merch for sale.....

To be fair we are still only just into February and the competition is 5 months away. Even the hardiest cricket fan is still only dreaming of watching live cricket in the UK.

Limited overs and T20 are a variation of real cricket, but from what I see of the 100 the game is very different. 5 or 10 ball overs does not appeal to me.
The T20 will be as now. The 50 over competition is the one to be run down, taking place alongside the hundred. Great idea just as we have won the 50-over World Cup.

Makes so much sense.

With the revamp of the 2nd XI program counties i.e. 1st and 2nd teams will play just 8 competitive 50-over games next season. Both teams will play plenty of 4-day and T20 cricket.

I don't quite understand the abandonment of 50-over cricket as I feel it provides the best of both worlds - an opportunity for a contest between bat and ball if the type of ball and pitches give something to the bowlers, thereby encouraging good batting technique, as well as a bit of fireworks from the bat. T20 and the Hundred is all about mystery spinners and sloggers.
