One change with TvdG replacing Hogan. Still no spinner which has to be a mystery.
Two wickets off De Lange who still seems to be preoccupied by the middle of the pitch. Carey keeping it tight and pitched up at the other end, bowling a lot better without success.

This period of the game is crying out for a specialist spinner to turn the screw.

Somerset 161/7 off 35. A better show, so far. Labuschagne 3 wickets, proving to be quite the all rounder.

Not easy to score runs on this pitch but the expected total should be well within our compass as long as we bat sensibly.

Somerset have got more than they should thanks to some wayward bowling at the end. Where are the middle stump yorkers? This will be a tough total for our batsmen.

Glamman you assume we have two openers capable of seeing off the new ball and giving us a start.

MM has more cricketing knowledge in his little fingernail than I have but surely the priority must be to get some openers in. He and HM use their contacts to get a loan in and give Murphy a go.

I assume Murphy is injured as has not been featuring for the 2nds. Lloyd should open. Glamorgan batsmen played some casual shots to get out.

One run between five batsmen!!!
Should the batsmen take responsibility or is the batting coach brought in to the equation..
Who takes the rap as surely such dismal failures cannot be accepted. Technique?
Attitude? Application? Why is it always our team?

It should be remembered that a score of 300 is only one run a ball not four. Patience is a virtue.

I'd settle for one run per batsman!!!! You have to laugh!

How typical - I left when Wagg got out. Switched on the laptop just now to hear the final wicket fall with Glamorgan two short...

Great knock from Lloyd who showed the top order how to do it.

Amazing. Whoever would have thought, from being 6 for 41 we would have come so close to winning. With so many ducks from our top order, it’s like deja vu from last season with our lower order performing wonderfully. All credit to them! At least we put up a great fight and didn’t crumble!

A splendid performance by the lower order; but an aggregate of zero from four specialist batsmen is just not acceptable.

Our recruits need to start performing !!!

Well done to Lloyd, Wagg and the lower order.

The Meschede experiment has failed dismally so far and they surely must make a change for the next game.

At least we competed in a game though.
