2nd XI

Absolutely pathetic from the Glamorgan media that you have to look on the Somerset website to find that Glamorgan 2s beat a strong Somerset 2s side today by 3 wickets. I see there was a tweet about it!

There's no excuse for it.

Agreed, it's appalling. Made worse by the fact it was a good win against a strong Somerset side and Somerset are the ones reporting it!

It's on the Glam site now, so clearly someone is reading these posts. :)

A brief reference in the announcement about the toss. Hardly a match report. However we do have a page about another commercial partner - I am sure we are all more interested in that.

Practice match against Notts 2s tomorrow. Wonder if they might come up against some of the Notts 1st team batsmen having suffered an innings defeat yesterday and their first 50 over game is not until Friday. Also wonder if the Glamorgan media team might actually take some interest?

Better coverage of the 2nds game on the official website today.

Sadly Notts look on course for a score of well over 300...

They have made a reasonable start in the chase although have just lost their 1st wicket. 65/1 off 11 overs. Good to see Smith back bowling.

A decent effort from the batsmen even if they were never really likely to win...

Bull scoring at 2 runs a ball is rather different to his batting last season!

A good effort, agreed. Also good to see decent coverage on the website and on social media channels.

Some coverage of the seconds on the website. Hopefully we'll see some decent match reports.

Announced on the BBC website that Labuschagne, Charlie Hemphrey and Kiran Carlson will play for the 2s tomorrow. Lawlor will come in againts Kent, presumably for Meschede.
Likely XI v Kent:
Lloyd
Hemphrey
Labuschagne
Root
Carlson
Lawlor
Cooke
Wagg
De Lange
Carey
Hogan
Question is whether Salter should play in place of Hogan. At least we are up to 4 Welshmen. :)

Demoting three, ( it would have been four, but Meschede unfit ), first team players into the 2nd team, is a bit embarrassing.
Maynard must be really p'd off with these players.
So, that means that three second team players will lose the opportunity to advance their game.
Sad state of affairs.

Demotion is probably not the right word. If you look at the sides the 2s come up against it is not uncommon for them to contain 1st XI players getting practice if the timetable permits.

That's another way of looking at it.

Demotion, or even dismissal, usually follows continuous poor performance, in the real world, anyway.

No one can really argue that they don't deserve demotion.
