Perhaps Murphy and Cook should open on Monday, but I have no suggestions for the other nine.

Take your pick for the Xl on Monday, but let's face it, all the overseas signings have been disappointing to say the least.

It's a long time since we've had an overseas signing who has had an impact in our 4 day side. Khawaja did well but that was an accident.

Thank goodness by this time next week another dismal season will be over.
I wonder what awaits us next March/April?

Best wishes for the future, the Welsh half of me, through my father, would be very pleased to see Glamorgan doing well again. My English mother loved the name Gareth when she heard it & that's who I became. Not a name much heard in Kent back in the fifties & I was often assumed I meant Gary, even when I indignantly denied it. So I embraced my dual nationality follow Kent, Glamorgan & England at cricket, Dartford, Wrexham, England & Wales at football, England & Wales at Rugby Union. It causes some problems when teams clash, but at least I don't lose those matches. Of course the other home countries & G. B get my support . as the occasion arises or allows. This sport lark can get quite confusing at times.

Khawaja was a glimpse of the promised land. before being cruelly snatched away. :)

And as another Kent fan, I also wish Glamorgan well . A team that brings so many supporters so far even when they have nothing to play for deserve a good team to watch.

For what it's worth comments similar to those I've read here by Glamorgan fans have been common on Kent forums even only a few months ago. Change can happen quite quickly in sport - a few good new players and some effective leadership can make a world of difference.

That is what we need but there is no sign we are going to get it.

We need
1) A new captain.................. beg Colin Ingram to come back to all forms of cricket
2) A new director of cricket
3) A new coach

Croft and Maynard don't like each other, surely this drip feeds into the dressing room.

Blackmoon, completely agree with you. Between Croft and Maynard I would go for M.M. any day. I have the feeling R.C. is too much of a socialiser, and lacking in skills to be in an administrator. He is however, a very nice guy and I would keep him but under the wings of a new boss.

There are not many available overseas players Glamorgan could contract. Most of them are contracted to National squads, or making a fortune on the T20 circuit. Of the rest many will be reluctant to join Glamorgan and decimate their careers. No number three batsman wants to be left 22 not out at the end of an innings, as was Jack Murphy the other day.

We will have a new captain but who? Must be really hard for MH to captain and carry the bowling. Injury ruined Carey's season - maybe he carried it too long. Injury or fear of it will probably dissuade Ingram from playing red ball cricket
Only hope v Leicestershire that some rabbits are pulled out of the hat Rabbits would be better than ducks.

Not disputing what you have written but l don't quite understand. If RC and MM do not get on why did the latter take on the batting consultant role. If he is/were that good a coach counties/countries would have formed a queue for his services.

Kent had the Midas touch this season and we touched base metal.

Hope for an innovative solution....

This " not liking each other " allegation has been floating around for a very long time. Since the original purveyor of what is, in all probability, merely Eastenders type gossip, has been unable/unwilling to substantiate it, I place no credence in it.

Unsubstantiated gossip should be discouraged. It serves NO real purpose.

Anyway, who says that people who don't like each other cannot work together ? It happens in all walks of life. People just get on with it.
