A forum for Glamorgan CCC fans

Another brilliant win with three and a half overs to go. Superb opening partnership with excellent running between the wickets (so important in T20) picking up valuable singles and turning ones into twos. Told some time ago that Wallace and Wagg the two quickest but the Lloyd/Wallace combination did us proud. Particularly pleased for Wallace who's been shoved in the firing line and was in top form tonight. Also Lloyd showing his increasing maturity playing a different kind of innings. And what can you say about Ingram - 4 balls and 3 consecutive sixes to win it!  All hail Glamorgan and, of course, some very good bowling if a little baffling! Inspirational stuff from our footballing and cricketing lads at the moment - very happy old man!

Well done Glamorgan, excellent bowling effort by Tait, TVDG Hogan and Mescede against a strong looking Middx batting line up. Well done to the 2 Welsh openers. Somebody on here said they would take 2 wins out of 3 for these T20 games. Sets up Sunday lets hope for big crowd and a big win.

and to think not long ago some people forecast we wouldn't win a game! We have not just beaten but smashed some big money bag teams and the management team should be given credit for that.

"some people".

Such a nebulous term. Another poster on a different thread implied the same.
Why not come out and name names. Just who ARE these people? We need to know. Build the gallows high, I say.

So what if someone, anyone, "forecast we wouldn't win a game".
Has anyone died as a result? Are posters not allowed to air their opinions? Do you just want to read positive comments, with any real, or inferred criticism, being banned?

From what I have read, there is plenty of "credit " being accorded to the team, and it's managers.

This forum, and others like it, requires a broad spectrum of opinions for it to survive.
There is nothing so pointless as a forum where everyone sings off the same hymn sheet.
I for one would soon be gone were that to happen.

"Some people" need to be encouraged to air their opinions/fears/concerns,etc.,without being denigrated with the label "some people".

Just my opinion,of course, and not that of "some people".

As I am sure I am one of the "some" thanks for that comment Vetch.

There are still some questions that the management need to address and that is primarily why are we bottom of the Championship table and 1st and 2nd in the limited overs ones? The means of winning are basically the same - score runs and then get wickets (that is the only effective way of slowing scoring in limited over games). Our performances in proper cricket (just my opinion  :)) have improved but a win still seems a way off.

The Southern groups look weaker than the Northern ones with slightly fewer Div1 teams and 3/4 in southern groups occupy the bottom 4 places in Div 1. However Middx are top and look what we did to them last night. We are also winning well against Div II teams above us. Our only two losses in limited over cricket are to Middx and Essex (who are top of Div II).

We field pretty well the same team - obviously our players are better suited to limited over cricket. Other counties tend to have more specialists.

People may say that T20 is the future and winnig those games is the priority. However if we want to hold on to players like Lloyd who will start to have greater ambitions, then Div 1 cricket becomes more important.

The other interesting problem is what happens when Cooke is fit - who drops out?

We all have different opinions and a forum like this is the place to air and debate them in a respectful way. Praise and criticism when due, is to be expected by our team and management and shows we care. I enjoy reading comments on here, articles online and in newspapers even if I disagree. At the moment, the performances in T20 are superb and utmost credit to all involved. We are right to be disappointed in CC and discuss this. Thank you to all fellow contributors - long may our 'opinions' continue!

God what a load of hyperbole. You sound like an old 'Sun' hack. It's raining 'World will flood'. Glamman, was one who stated that,as he says.
I do not want to 'hang him high' and I am not aware of anyone dying. I cannot be bothered replying to you rant point by point. I am sorry that my term "Some people" provoked such a very extreme reaction, I must use it again some time!!

Great performances in white ball cricket this season, and we have thrashed a lot of teams. Some people said we had a good side on paper, and might do well, and we have.Hopefully the whole country we see how great we are,if Sky could see beyond having Surrey on every other televised game.

glamman- I would like to verify that I do not want you to be hanged and I do not think anybody has died as a result of your posts!!
I think the recruitment of players has been largely been targeted to strengthen  the one day game as it is there the money lies. There are numerous example of teams that perform well over the longer game and poorly in shorter formats. I also fear about Lloyd as the money and  glamour will soon be after him.
As for Cooke, he should clearly not be risked as a wicket keeper and I would drop a bowler, perhaps 'rest' Wagg?

Calm down dear.  "Some people" may have felt patronised by your "some people" comment.
Perhaps next time you have a grievance, why not air it properly, and stop hiding behind a few empty words like "some people".

I don't read The Sun, so will have to acquiesce to your greater knowledge of said rag.

No need to be so angry, we are ALL on the same side.
