Who deserves to stay at Glamorgan and why?
Morris?
Maynard?
Harrison?
Watkin?
Shaw?
Almond?

Are there more pluses than minuses?

Maynard could still be kept on as a part time batting coach unless the new director of cricket wants to bring his own man in
Watkins is very old school and does not now fit in with present modern methods so he should go
Almond has been here for a number of years and to be honest I would regard him as dead wood
Shaw done a stint as coach and failed miserably and I was surprised Crofty brought him back
Harrison I would keep as he does all the statistics and he is still young and can learn more skills
Regarding Hugh Morris well thank goodness he has been removed from the cricketing side as I was never happy with as Director of Cricket
I can’t really make any comments on his CEO work
The hope is that we employ a director of cricket from outside who will sort out all the coaching side and also employ a chief coach who will be hands on and sit with his players during the one day matches and encourage them unlike Crofty who sat away from them with a paper and pen without any emotion and never even smiled when we took a wicket or a player had batted a good innings
Let’s hope for some good from this season and it would be nice come next April to actually look forward to the start of the season

We know HM is staying and will have a big say in all the new appointments.

He is obviously a sound cricket man, but I hope his luck changes now as some of the things he has tried at Glamorgan have not worked.

I would be very happy with Matthew as first team coach if he wanted it and if it fitted in with the thinking of the new DOC.

If either of these are in doubt then we should get someone new from outside.

I cannot see Hogan beinig asked to be captain again or him wantinig to do it.

We therfore could be looking at a new DOC, Head Coach and captain.

Do not agree with the comments on here about Steve Watkin.

It is hardly his fault that the batting was so under strength this year, and he does not deserve to lose his job because of it.

Comments noted.
Is anyone accountable for the batting bonus points that both Somerset and Glamorgan had in the county championship over the last two years?
Somerset made a decision. Will we?
Cricket is like most sports a results business. Nod your head and stay under the radar may be a way to stay in a job but at some point someone is going to look at each individual role and make a decision. It may be an old buddy it may not?
The job of statistician I believe used to be done free of charge by a student. Can we not bring this back and unlock funds to make available to a new director of cricket or spend more on a new head coach or give us more money to improve our playing staff?
The old saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it. Unfortunately we are badly broken and in need of a massive overhaul.

I said on another thread a while back surely we can sort out a business plan for the next 24 months and approve it with our bankers.

We have around 1.7 million of additional funding coming into the business in around 20 months time.

The debt is now on a managable level.

We need to invest in the cricket side of our business and stop doing things on the cheap.

That means DOC, First Team Coach, players and other facilities and specialist coaching if required.

Would also be nice to see a scoreboard that looks like a 2019 model and not one from the early 90's.

Financially we should be better off than many counties.

Very interesting to see that David Harrison is accompanying the Lions tour before and after Christmas as Analyst and coaching assistant working with Flower and Thorpe. Only know what I’ve read and been told but, apparently, he’s a popular man around the Club with a degree, level 4 coaching and respect of the youngsters. England must think highly of him so he would appear to be someone who Glamorgan should retain.

David Harrison appears to have all the credentials to become Glamorgan's head coach. Perhaps he should be given a 12 months trial contract. I cannot see us finding any one else unless we pay him silly money; coming to Glamorgan and failing would be an 'ending career experience '.

What will Robert Croft do now ? Will he go to a top public school; or will he quietly slip out of the cricketing world. With so much T20 cricket being played world wide now there must be opportunities for him in T20 management and coaching; after all his record in that format has been quite good. Then there is Sky T V ; perhaps he could replace Danny Morrison who I find intensely annoying. With the likes of David Gower and David Lloyd not getting any younger it may be the way ahead for him.

Anyway good luck to Crofty !!!!

David Harrison is a quiet unassuming individual and does not have the leadership qualities to become head coach in my opinion. I don't doubt that he is a popular figure at Glamorgan but we want to move away from winning popularity competitions to winning cricket matches. That is why we need to change from what we already have and employ an individual/s who can come in rattle a few cages and extract the best of what talent we have. Current coaching staff have not been able to achieve this. New brooms to sweep clean.
Good luck to Crofty in what ever road he takes.
